Many diabetics are susceptible to foot complications because of poor circulation, which often leads to neuropathy - a loss of feeling or loss of protective sensation in the extremities. Without the protective sensations, wearing poorly fit shoes can cause sores to develop on the feet that cannot be felt.  This can lead to foot complications getting worse if they’re not given the proper care. Since diabetics have poor circulation, the body may not be able to heal the sores properly because antibodies in the bloodstream may not be reaching the problem area adequately.

Custom Molded Inserts & Gel Inserts

Take your new diabetic shoes one step further with custom diabetic shoe inserts.  Make an appointment with one of our Certified Shoe Fitters to create custom molds to fit every curve of your feet.  Our Certified Shoe Fitter may need to perform a quick foot exam and take several measurements of your feet, for that perfect fit!

Custom Diabetic Inserts – These inserts will be created by taking a foam impression of your feet and sending it to the lab for creation.  If special accommodations to the inserts need to be made, such as adding metatarsal pads or heel cups, creating custom inserts this way is the proper solution.
